Abuzz delivers a total media solution in Westfield’s premium Shopping Centre. Located in Australia’s top performing retail area on Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall, the $1.2 billion redevelopment of the shopping centre including Sydney Tower was completed in late 2010. Abuzz was selected to deliver a world class wayfinding and digital signage solution with over 100 screens throughout the Centre.
An integrated solution
Abuzz developed a total solution that manages all of the devices and content on one platform, allowing marketing to change their digital media content, messaging, and directions in one place via a web-based content management system.
Interactive wayfinding
Many of the visitors to Westfield Sydney are international or first-time visitors. Our Wayfinding solution branded for Westfield includes Multi-lungual translations allowing visitors to quickly and effectively find what they’re looking for through the intuitive touch-screen interface.
Traditional signage now digital
The signage plinths are all digital within the centre allowing management to dynamically change the listings and also play media on the screens. This has proven to be invaluable as sections of the building are opened up with new tenants. The possibilities are now limitless when it comes to the contextual messaging they can now provide to visitors throughout the centre.
Attracting attention
When not in use, the Wayfinding moves into a digital presentation with the ability to play video, animation, images, messages in a highly visual and attractive format. Further visual messaging is visible while in use whilst not interfering with the functionality of the kiosk.
A creative history lesson
As the centre has a heritage listing, there was a requirement to provide visitors with information about the historic relevance of the site. Abuzz developed ultra-high-definition video comprising scanned archival photos and footage allowing visitors to see a comprehensive visual history in a 20 minute loop.
